Today Anna, David, Jaco and myself went to Marieskop … the top of the Mountain.
It was a magnificent sight weaving through the dirt roads on the back of the bakkie with giant green trees creating a wonderland around and over us.
As we winded up the mountain we ventured further and further away from our familiar world.
Once we reached the top, we stood in awe. The entire world below had become simply tiny squares and circles of land. Lakes were puddles and roads were shoe strings. We walked out onto the rocks protruding from the mountain and found ourselves standing on the edge of the universe; our breath taken away.
The rest of the day was spent exploring and trying to spot all the places we knew in the tiny landscape below. All in all, it was truly an extraordinary and humbling experience!
