Encouraged by the initiative of Spoon (Sboniso Phakathi) and Paul, Traci our superhuman host J, was interested in further supporting the “Rights for Rhinos” project. And so it comes that she and Dylan, organized a car wash event on the 12th of May.

Located on the parking area in front of Pick´n`Pay, equipped with T-shirts from “Rights for Rhinos” and armed with sponges, wisp cloths and water buckets the action could take place. Dylan, Lester and Ken, who are locals from Hoedspruit, catered for the needed musical background and also arranged stand-up displays with information about Rhino poaching and Rhino skulls to gain further attention from the people around. Thereby the members of African Dream Horse Safari made it their business to talk to and enlighten as many people as possible about illegal poaching and the suffering of the animals. And, of course… we washed a great plenty of cars!

For a minimum donation of 10 Rand we washed any kind of car, no matter if it was an Opel Corsa or a Minibus. And despite the nearly unbearable heat on this day we kept on bravely until 6 pm in the evening. By doing this we eventually collected 3500 Rand for Spoon and Paul and their 2000 km walk from Musina to Cape Town!

Happy and satisfied with us we fade away this awesome day with a delicious supper at the Safari Club, where we also reviewed the internship of Lynn and the stay of her mother Brigitte and grandmother Amy (Oma J) from the Netherlands.

Thanks to Traci, Dylan, Lester, Ken, the ADHS-Team, Pick´n`Pay and all people, who supported this action with their donation! Our Rhinos will be grateful!
